The Bundestag elections 2025 were just around the corner, when this project was created. The conflict between right and left is more evident than ever; society could not be more divided. The future of Germany is at stake and freedom is pitted against law and order.
For the D&AD New Blood Awards 2025, Monotype's brief was to create a typographic campaign that deals with the topic of Freedom, Law & Order.
The result is a campaign for the 2025 federal elections in which Monotype provides German citizens with a visually interesting representation of the election results. The representation consists of the word “WAHL” and is based on real-time data from the evaluation of the election results.
The basic idea is that the word is distorted. The distortion takes place in the direction of the parties, which should ultimately reveal a picture that shows the will of the people. In addition to German citizens, designers are also specifically addressed by this project, as it is visually unusual and is also linked to a special event. Even if the designers are not interested in the election results, there will still be a visual spectacle throughout the city. The campaign will run throughout Germany. There are many opportunities, especially in large cities. As this is an interactive campaign, it must be carried out digitally. This means that only display boards that can be operated digitally can be considered. This is particularly common in railroad stations, where it makes particular sense as a wide variety of people use public transport.
